Funding boost for multicultural services in Victoria

The coalition government has provided a funding boost for multicultural services for Loddon Campaspe.

Migration agents in Victoria may be pleased to hear the coalition government has provided a funding boost for multicultural services for Loddon Campaspe.

The organisation provides important opportunities, support and services for people of different ethnic backgrounds living within the local community. Organisations such as these are essential to helping migrants adjust to life in Australia.

Recognising the significant contribution of Loddon Campaspe, the Victorian Minister for Multicultural Affairs and Citizenship Nicholas Kotsiras awarded the organisation a grant of $150,000 on December 19.

"The coalition government recognises Loddon Campaspe Multicultural Services' essential work throughout the local area, supporting residents from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds to build meaningful social networks and participate actively within their local communities," Mr Kotsiras said in a statement.

The grant, which comes from the Peak Multicultural Grants Program, will help Loddon Campaspe improve its overall strategy and organisational capacity. It is hoped the additional funding will allow Loddon Campaspe to extend its services to more communities.

"The Peak Multicultural Organisations Grants Program is a compelling example of how the coalition government is working to improve the scope and reach of the services being provided to Victoria's culturally and linguistically diverse communities," Mr Kotsiras concluded.
